About this job

What the role is

An early-career support job at Canonical, the company that publishes Ubuntu. You handle customer support cases by phone, email and web from first contact to resolution, keep customers updated, meet service-level targets and write knowledge-base articles. The team is spread across time zones and the job includes a weekend rotation.

Who can apply

Canonical describes this as “a globally remote role” with the location “Home based – Worldwide”, so candidates in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco or anywhere else in the region can apply from home. No nationality restriction is stated. You need a technical degree (or a strong alternative story), real Linux troubleshooting experience and working knowledge of two areas such as server administration, scripting, networking or cloud. Good English is essential. Canonical also screens heavily on academic record, and you must pass a background check and travel abroad twice a year.

What you get

Home-based work, a USD 2,000 yearly learning budget, annual pay review, parental leave, an assistance programme and travel to team sprints. Salary is not published.

How to apply

Apply on Canonical’s Greenhouse board. Applying is free.
