Frequently asked questions
17 questions readers ask about jobs, government portals and how CareerMENA checks every listing, each answered with a source.
Is this job real? How do you check it?
We publish a job only after four checks that our publishing system enforces: a human editor opens the employer's own application page, reads the closing date there (or marks the job "Open until filled"), takes eligibility, nationality rules and any salary from that posting, and records the date and the editor who verified it. Job boards, reposts and social media posts are leads, never the source. Our Editorial Policy sets out the full process.

Do you charge candidates?
Listings are always free; we never ask for documents or payment to apply. We offer optional paid reviews of your own CV and application documents, and buying one has no effect on which jobs we list or how we verify them. A genuine employer does not ask candidates to pay to be hired.

How do I apply? Do I send my CV to you?
No. We are not the employer or a recruitment agency, and we do not receive CVs or process applications. Apply on the employer's official page via careermena.com. Every job page has a button that takes you to the employer's own posting, where you apply.

Someone asked me for money or documents in CareerMENA's name. What should I do?
Do not pay and do not send documents: it is not us. Listings are always free; we never ask for documents or payment to apply. Forward the message to [email protected] so we can warn other readers.

Can non-Saudis apply for jobs on Jadarat?
No. The Human Resources Development Fund, which runs Jadarat, states that "the applicant must be a Saudi national", and answers "Yes" to the question of whether the platform's jobs are exclusively for Saudi citizens. If you are not Saudi, look for jobs in Saudi Arabia that employers advertise on their own careers sites without a nationality restriction. Our guide to GCC government job portals explains how Jadarat works.

Can non-Emiratis use Nafis?
Nafis is a federal programme for Emirati talent: u.ae describes it as strengthening the competitiveness of Emirati talent in the UAE's private sector. The official pages we checked describe no route for other nationalities. Jobs in the UAE that are open to all nationalities are listed separately on their employers' own careers sites.

Why are some Gulf jobs open only to nationals?
Because GCC governments set nationalisation targets for employers. In the UAE, for example, private establishments with 50 or more employees must raise Emiratisation in skilled jobs by 2% a year. When an employer limits a job to nationals, our record quotes that rule exactly as written and files the job under Open to nationals of that country.

What does "Open until filled" mean?
The employer has published no closing date and takes applications until it hires someone. The job can close at any time without notice, so treat it as urgent if it interests you.

How often do you re-check open-until-filled jobs?
At least every 7 days, on the employer's own site. If nobody has re-confirmed a job for 45 days, it closes automatically. Each job page shows the date we last verified it.

Why is a job marked closed?
Either its closing date has passed, or it was open until filled and was not re-confirmed within 45 days. Statuses are recalculated every day. Closed jobs stay online, marked "Closed", for reference; they are not deleted.

The employer's page says something different from yours. Which is right?
The employer's page. Employers change postings, and the employer always decides eligibility and dates. Email [email protected] with the URL of our page and a link to the employer's page, and we will check the source and correct ours.

What is a graduate programme?
A structured entry route for recent graduates, hired in a cohort and trained on the job. Each programme sets its own rules: First Abu Dhabi Bank's Management Trainee Program, for example, is for UAE nationals who graduated between 2023 and 2026 with a GPA of at least 3.7. See all current ones under Graduate program, and read our guide to Gulf graduate programmes.

Do you list jobs in Egypt, Jordan and Morocco?
Yes. We select jobs for candidates from the GCC, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia and the rest of the Arab world, with employers in the Gulf, the wider Arab world and abroad. Country pages such as Jobs in Egypt show what is open right now; a country page can be empty while we have no verified job there.

Why does a job show no salary?
Because the employer did not publish one. We show a salary only when the employer states it on its posting, in the employer's own terms, and we never estimate one.

Does a listing tell me whether the employer sponsors a visa?
Only if the employer says so. Each job record has a visa sponsorship and a relocation field; when the posting is silent, the field reads "Not stated by the employer". In that case ask the employer before you assume either way.

I am hiring. Can I submit a job?
Yes, if it is a real, open role. Email [email protected] with the URL of the posting on your own careers site, the closing date (or "open until filled") and whose nationals can apply. We verify every submission against your page before publishing, and submission does not guarantee a listing.

Do you use AI to write the listings?
AI tools may help us draft and translate text, but they are not a source of facts. Every published job is verified against the employer's posting and approved by a human editor, in English and in Arabic.
