This Editorial Policy explains how CareerMENA selects, verifies, writes, updates and corrects job listings, and how we keep our editorial decisions independent from advertising.
Who is responsible
Listings are produced by the CareerMENA Editorial Team, led by our Editor-in-Chief, who is accountable for what we publish.
What we select
We list real, current vacancies that candidates from the GCC, the Arab world and elsewhere can realistically apply for: jobs, contracts, internships, graduate and trainee programs, and fellowships. A job is only eligible for a listing if we can trace it to a posting published by the employer itself, on its own careers site or on an official recruitment portal. If we cannot find that posting, we do not publish. We never list a job that asks candidates for a fee.
Our verification standard
Our publishing system will not publish a record unless all four of these are true:
- A human editor has opened the employer’s application URL.
- The closing date was read on the employer’s posting, or the record is marked “Open until filled” because the employer publishes no closing date.
- Eligibility, nationality rules and any salary figure were taken from the employer’s posting.
- A last-verified date and the name of the verifying editor are recorded.
What every record shows
- A link to the employer’s own application page.
- The date it was last verified.
- Its status: open, closing soon or closed.
- The salary only when the employer states one, and nationality restrictions exactly as the employer states them.
How we write
We write each record from the employer’s posting and organise it into the same fields every time: where the job is, whose nationals can apply, what the role needs, the salary and benefits when stated, how to apply and the closing date. We use plain language and our own summary; we never copy the employer’s job description. Nationality rules are the employer’s own criteria: we report them as facts and do not add our own. We always name and link the source.
Use of AI
AI tools may help us draft and translate text. They are not a source of facts. Every published record is verified against the employer’s posting and approved by a human editor, and this applies equally to our English and Arabic pages.
Updates, open-until-filled jobs and closed listings
Statuses are recalculated daily. When a closing date passes, the record’s status changes to closed automatically. Jobs with no closing date (“Open until filled”) are re-checked on the employer’s site at least every 7 days, and close automatically when nobody has re-confirmed them for 45 days. Closed listings are not deleted: they stay online, marked “Closed”, for reference. When an employer changes an open vacancy, we update the record and its last-verified date.
Employer-authorised listings
An employer can authorise us in writing to publish its vacancy in full, with the full description it supplies. Only those listings are marked up as job postings for search engines. They pass the same four checks as every other record, and any paid placement is labelled as sponsored.
Corrections
If you find an error, email [email protected] with the URL of our page and, if possible, a link to the employer’s page showing the correct information. We check the source, then fix the page or add a note on the page explaining the correction.
Independence
CareerMENA is funded by advertising and by optional paid reviews of candidates’ own documents, and in future may include affiliate links and sponsored listings. Advertising is marked “Advertisement”, and any affiliate link or sponsored listing will be labelled. Advertisers, sponsors and service customers never influence which jobs we list or how they are verified. We are not affiliated with the employers we list unless a page states otherwise.
