What the role is
A faculty post in the Department of Medical Sciences, part of Khalifa University’s College of Medicine and Health Sciences in Abu Dhabi. The department runs bachelor’s, master’s and PhD programmes, including a PhD in Biomedical Sciences with a translational-medicine focus. This opening targets three research areas: Healthy Aging, Reproductive Health and Nutritional Medicine. The associate professor is expected to lead an externally funded research group, publish in leading journals, teach, and supervise students.
Who can apply
The posting sets no nationality restriction. You need a PhD or equivalent in biomedical or life sciences and at least two years of relevant experience, but at associate rank the real test is an established research record and a history of winning grants. Physician-scientists and surgeon-scientists are specifically encouraged, so Arab clinicians who run active labs abroad and want to move back to the Gulf are a natural fit.
What you get
The posting does not list salary, housing, relocation or visa arrangements. Ask about the package at interview stage.
How to apply
Apply through Khalifa University’s Oracle careers site. Your CV should set out citation figures (Scopus, Google Scholar), courses taught, students supervised, grants won and service roles, because the posting asks for all of these.
Timing & verification note
Checked on Khalifa University’s careers system on 27 September 2026. The posting went live on 29 December 2025 and has no end date, so it may close once suitable candidates are found.
